Late Night Gaming Withdrawals

Hey Late Nighters,

My gaming time has been very limited this week. The office where I've been working as an intern has lost it's receptionists, so I've been working every day to cover for her. The good news is that I'm getting paid, but the bad news is that I'm having to wake up early every day so I have no time for Wizard 101 beyond keeping my plants alive.

Luckily, last weekend I spent an inordinate amount of time in the Spiral and accomplished many things. On Saturday we had our Boss Races event. The turnout was small, but I think this was a good thing because it can get kind of dull waiting for each wizard to beat a boss. Everyone who came got a prize, so that was cool. During the rest of my weekend I leveled up a few more pets including my new Samoorai. So far it does not have Spritely, yay! I also finished up the Wysteria quests on my death and second life legendary wizards. I now have three wizards ready to tackle the Tower of the Helephant at the next possible opportunity. Hopefully that won't take quite as long this time. After finishing Wysteria I sent my death/life team back to Celestia and finally made it to the Crab Empire.

It's Friday afternoon and I'm wondering what to do when I log on tonight. I'm looking forward to questing a bit, but working on CL just doesn't appeal to me very much. What really sounds good right now is doing some of the low level quests that I haven't seen for a while. I have several young wizards in Wizard City and Kroktopia that I haven't played in a long time. I'm thinking of pairing my balance grandmaster with my death noob and working my way through KT. Having a high level wizard, especially balance, on your team really speeds things up. Maybe if I am far enough along in KT we can do Tomb of the Beguiler for the Saturday dungeon run for a nice change of pace. Maybe I should try working on some game guides too (I seem to say this a lot, but somehow it never happens).

See you around the Spiral,

Late Night News

Hey Late Nighters we got some group news today. Last night was our monthly group meeting. Thanks to all the Late Night Wizards, new and old, who made the meeting last night.

Our first bit of business was tonight’s event: Boss Races. We will see who is the fastest to beat several bosses with prizes for the fastest times. This event will kick off at 1 am EST (12 CST, 11 MST, 10 PST). We will meet in Golem Court in Unicorn Realm, Area 1 as usual. Next month we will have a Scavenger Hunt after the group meeting.

These last couple of weeks have been great fun in Wizard 101. Wysteria has come to the Spiral. This is a world for Wizards level 25 and up. New enemy’s to battle include goblins, hobgoblins, and some seriously cool looking plant guys. Here you will compete in a magical tournament with students from other magical worlds while you try to unravel the mystery behind the missing Spiral Cup. If you can manage that challenge, Wysteria has even more fun in store when you reach level 60 with the new Tower of the Helephant. This tower has some nasty cheats and the first floor is by far the hardest. We ran this tower for our Wednesday dungeon run and I got a spiffy new ring. I got three more wizards ready to tackle this tower when time permits.

Also new in August are House Teleporters. These handy devices allow you to port between houses in your inventory. I got one from the new Wyvern’s Hoard Home and Garden pack. These packs contain lots and lots of trees for your castles, plants, three different sets of gear which make you look like a tree person, and mounts. The mounts are the real prize in this pack. If you are lucky you might get some fairy wings (I got a blue set), and, if you are very lucky, a Wyvern mount in one of five colors.

I took my legendary Life and Fire wizards through Wysteria last week, and got my life wizard, Keira Unicornwhisper through the Tower of The Helephant on Wednesday. This weekend I’m hiding from the triple digit heat by sitting with my laptop in front of a window air conditioner and working my way through Wysteria with my second set of Legendary wizards; Keira Nightshade, death and Kieran Earthwhisper, life. After I finish this little detour I'll head back to Celestia and try to finish that up soon.

See you around the Spiral!

The Video

It seems that we may have offended some people out there with the Spiral Wars video.  We have meant this to be a joke, but unfortunately it seems that people are unable to understand this.

With that, we would like to let you all know that Wise Minions have decided that it is in their groups best interest that they can not support our efforts in participating with this blog and have asked that we remove them from the video.

Wise Minions if you don't know are an extension of the Wisen Wizards Group which is run by Central.  By having Wise Minions portrayed in the video as a "participant", both Wise Minions and Wisen Wizards felt that they were speaking harm against their own groups, so this is why they have requested to be removed from the video and blog. We have listened to their issues and concerns and have obliged their request.  We here at LNW101 meant no harm to them at all and they are always welcome to our blog and group.

We hope that we can continue forward from here with Wise Minions with some great in game events and contests after all it is just all in fun and games with Wizard101.
